Ayanna Pressley and Ayaka Konno

Ayanna a Pressley, is an activist and policymaker. The 6th of November, 2018, Ayanna was elected to the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, making her the first woman of color elected to Congress from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ayanna thinks that people who have experienced the greatest hardships in their lives must be in the top positions of authority. Additionally, she believes it's important to incorporate diverse voices in order to help create better public policy. Ayanna is from the city of Cincinnati native who grew up living in Chicago. Her father was a former criminal and her mother was a single mother. The mother of Ayanna Sandra Pressley worked as a tenant right activist and instilled civic engagement into her.
